Geffri Maya Hightower is an American actress best known for her role as Maya Bennett on the television series Private Practice . In her previous engagements in television, she was also listed under the names Geffri Maya and Geffri Hightower .

life and career

Geffri Maya Hightower made her acting debut in a well-known production in 2006. She was used in the second episode of the first season of Jericho - The attack in only a small and insignificant role as Allison and did not even appear in the credits. In 2007 she was finally included in the cast of the television series Private Practice , where she was sporadically seen in the role of Maya Bennett , the daughter of Naomi Bennett (played by Audra McDonald ) and Sam Bennett ( Taye Diggs ). She was from the first season up to season 3 in action and came to occasional appearances. However, she had her greatest engagement in the third season, where she was significantly integrated into the storyline. So she was portrayed this season as a pregnant woman who will marry the father of her child, Dink ( Stephen Lunsford ), later in the storyline . Over the course of the season, she and obstetrician Dell are involved in a car accident, with Maya Bennett surviving her subsequent surgery and giving birth to her child around the same time. By 2010, Hightower had been used in twelve different episodes of Private Practice . During her time with the spin-off of Grey's Anatomy , she was brought in for an episode in the series Everyone Hates Chris in 2008, where she starred as Latrinda in the 17th episode of the third season .

In her real life, Hightower attended the Hamilton High School Academy of Music ( Alexander Hamilton High School with its affiliated Academy of Music ) in Los Angeles until 2011 . After that she has the opportunity to go to various universities, but has already decided on Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta in the US state of Georgia .
