The pinnate split flower ( Schizanthus pinnatus ) is a species of the genus Schizanthus in the nightshade family (Solanaceae).
features
The pinnate split flower is an annual plant that reaches heights of growth of 70 to 90 centimeters. It is often covered with black to brown-headed glandular hairs and short or long, pressed bristles. The leaves are pinnate to pinnate and measure 7 to 19 × 3 to 6 centimeters. The crown is pink to purple in color and mottled dark purple. The corolla tube is shorter than the calyx lobes . The stamens protrude clearly from the corolla tube.
Flowering time is from July to September.
Occurrence
The pinnate split flower occurs in Chile in forest edges and bushes.

The pinnate split flower is widely used as an ornamental plant for summer flower beds and as a potted plant. It has been in culture since the first half of the 19th century at the latest. There are several varieties.
