Peter Kehl (born April 23, 1976 in Homberg / Efze ) is a German lawyer and former politician ( FDP ) in the state of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After passing his Abitur in 1996, Peter Kehl studied law in Halle / Saale from 1997 to 2002 and, interrupted by his mandate in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt, from 2007 to 2009 . Kehl passed the first state examination in law in 2009 with distinction and the second state examination in 2012. Since then he has been working as a lawyer in Halle / Saale .

Political party

Peter Kehl has been a member of the FDP since 1994 . From 1998 to 2002 he was state chairman of the Young Liberals .

Public offices

Peter Kehl was elected to the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt in 2002. He was the spokesman for the environment of the FDP parliamentary group and was responsible for Halle / Saale and Köthen . From 2002 to 2006 Kehl was a member of the board of trustees of the state center for political education and a member of the foundation board of the Foundation for Environmental and Climate Protection Saxony-Anhalt. In Saxony-Anhalt, Kehl made a name for himself as a fighter against corruption and nepotism in politics and administration. For the state elections in 2006, Kehl did not run for the state parliament again via the state list of the FDP and thus de facto waived a re-entry into the state parliament. As a direct candidate, he achieved 10.4% of the first votes and thus the third-best result of his party in the state of Saxony-Anhalt . As a result of this election, Kehl left the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt in 2006.
