The Yellow Wave is a uniform information system for water tourism offers in Germany and has been awarded by the German Tourism Association since 2005 for the identification of landing stages or harbors with at least two berths . The information is supplemented by one or more pictograms . The signing is widely used in Germany.

history

The Yellow Wave was developed by the Berlin Treptow-Köpenick Tourist Association as part of the Expo 2000 and tested on the rivers and lakes in Berlin and Brandenburg . In 2002 the signet was further developed into a tourist guidance system . In 2003 the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania joined the system.

The German Tourist Association Service acquired the trademark rights for this symbol in 2004 and thus marks nationwide mooring options for water sports enthusiasts who receive a clear indication of the type of mooring in order to support water hiking in tourism. The signposting is supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology , the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing , the ADAC , the German Rowing Association , the Federal Canoe Tourism Association and the regional tourism organizations.

The symbol, which was developed in coordination with the Waterways and Shipping Office and the Water Protection Police, does not have any legal consequences.

The Weser is equipped since 2006 as the first river in Germany with the information system Yellow wave.
