The Geldgeschichtliche Nachrichten (GN) is a journal of the Society for International Monetary History (GIG) published six times a year (January, March, May, July, September, November ). Since 1965, it has published articles from all areas of coin and monetary history as well as medal studies. The periods covered range from the beginning of coinage in the 7th century BC. Chr. Until today. The dates of exhibitions, conferences, coin fairs and auctions of other organizers as well as courses on monetary history topics in the universities are also announced in it.

Subscription to the magazine is included in the GIG membership fee. The edition is around 1000 pieces.

editorial staff

Editor-in-chief was Stephan Berke from 2009 to 2013 , Marc Philipp Wahl from spring 2013 to December 2014, then Martin Baer; Alexa Küter has been editor-in-chief since spring 2017. The other members of the editorial team are Werner Stahl, Jens Heckl , Stefan Welte and Marc Philipp Wahl.
