A community center is a house with respect to the community . The name has different meanings depending on the country.

Switzerland

In Switzerland, the seat of the municipal administration is known as the parish hall. In the parish hall, the seat of the executive branch of a political municipality , there are usually all administrative offices open to the public, the residents' registration office, the civil registry office and the financial administration; the police station can also be located in this building. The offices of the executive are often relatively limited, as the executive offices in smaller communities are generally held on a voluntary basis.

The town hall of a township is called a town house . From the townhouse that is City Hall distinguished, in the latter, the gathered legislature of the village. In most communities in Switzerland since the legislative the once or twice a year passing Municipal Assembly is, there is no town hall.
