The parish hall of the cathedral parish is located in Bremen , Mitte district , Sandstrasse 10-12. It was built until 1928 according to plans by Walter Görig . It has been a listed building in Bremen since 1973 .

history

The two-storey, five-axis, clinkered parish hall of the St. Petri Cathedral parish with the four-axis neo-Gothic arcades to the cathedral, the single-storey rear arcade structure, the massive and distinctive stepped gable and the two gothic entrances on the side was built in 1926/28 in the period between the wars in the style of Expressionism built. An inner courtyard is formed by this house and the cathedral.

The protected ensemble of the cathedral island also consists of St. Petri Cathedral with the Cathedral Museum (Romanesque and Gothic additions), rectory , two preacher's houses , the former sexton's house as well as the bell , the chapter house of the cathedral parish , house Kulenkampff and two commercial buildings Domsheide 4 and 5 as well as the Bismarck monument with the equestrian statue of Otto von Bismarck and the tower blower fountain .

Architect Walter also designed the concert hall Die Glocke , the Küsterhaus (all 1928) and the two preachers' houses (1952, 1960) as well as the nearby Deutsche Schiffsbank (with Friedrich Schumacher, Domshof 17, 1952).

Today (2018) the building houses the municipal administration with the cathedral chancellery as well as various rooms for group work by the parish (including women’s group, discussion island, senior meeting place, worship workshop, birthday coffee, cathedral breakfast).
