The municipal council and mayoral elections in Innsbruck 2018 took place on April 22, 2018. The last election of the municipal council in Innsbruck took place in 2012 .
Twelve lists (FI, ÖVP, SPÖ, Greens, FPÖ, NEOS, List Fritz, ali , Gerechtes Innsbruck, Bürgerinitiativen Innsbruck, Seniorenbund and Inn-Piraten) had submitted a candidacy for the municipal council election by the deadline on March 23, 2018 Nine lists (ÖVP, FI, SPÖ, Greens, FPÖ, NEOS, List Fritz, Gerechtes Innsbruck and Inn-Piraten) submitted a candidacy for mayoral elections .

On April 22, 2018, the election of the mayor of the state capital Innsbruck also took place.
Christine Oppitz-Plörer ( FI ), Georg Willi ( GRÜNE ), Rudi Federspiel ( FPÖ ), Franz Xaver Gruber ( ÖVP ), Irene Heisz ( SPÖ ), Heinrich Stemeseder ( Inn Pirates ), Gerald Depaoli (Righteous Innsbruck) took part in the first ballot ), Thomas Mayer ( FRITZ ) and Dagmar Margit Klingler-Newesely ( NEOS ) against each other.

The two candidates with the most votes, Oppitz-Plörer and Willi, made it to the runoff election, which took place on May 6, 2018. This won the green candidate Georg Willi with 52.9% against the incumbent mayor Christine Oppitz-Plörer from the list for Innsbruck, who thus became the first green mayor of an Austrian capital. On May 24, 2018 Georg Willi was sworn in as mayor by Governor Günther Platter in the constituent meeting of the Innsbruck City Council .
