Walle community school
The building of the former Walle community school in Bremen , Walle district, Walle district, Ritter-Raschen-Straße 43/45, was built in 1858 according to plans by master builder Johann Bellstedt. This building has been a listed building in Bremen since 1984 . The monument protection only affects the old school building from 1858, which stands directly on the eaves directly on Ritter-Raschen-Straße - but not the later extension buildings that make up the majority of the school site.
history
The school fees free free schools for boys was in Bremer education after the successful 1844 introduction of universal compulsory education in Bremen in 1858 in the style of classicism with funds from a foundation of Burchard Meyer from Baltimore built. The five-axis T-shaped, two-storey building made of brick with a gable roof has a distinctive central riser . The school was expanded in 1873, 1877 and 1884. Until 1902 it was a country school, then a city school.
In 1921 the Housing Office temporarily furnished apartments in the building. Then around 1929 it became a household school for girls. The building currently belongs to the Walle school center and houses parts of the vocational school for health .
