The community elementary school Im Brömm is a community elementary school in the northern part of Scholven of the city ​​of Gelsenkirchen . It is a training center for teacher training and a model school of the "e-nitiative NRW". Currently around 200 students are taught by 12 teachers.

history

From 1912 the school building was erected in two construction phases. As early as 1913, school operations could begin in the completed first part. This school building housed the Catholic elementary school - Josefschule - System II and the Protestant elementary school until 1923 .

During the Second World War , the school was badly damaged by eleven bomb hits. She was the first school in the district of Scholven , the first in on the schoolyard standing barracks could and in makeshift classrooms in 1945 to resume teaching operation. In the school building were then the Kath. Volksschule Ludwig von Vincke School and the Protestant primary school of Vincke- housed -Schule. Gradually the building was further restored.

In 1963 the school building was expanded for the last time. With the new extension, the school now has a gym , a teaching pool and a caretaker's apartment.

As part of the major school reform in 1968, it was renamed to Primary School Im Brömm .

Since 2001, the school has also been a training center for teacher training for all 63 primary , secondary and special schools in Gelsenkirchen.

Since 2001 the school has also been a model school of the e-initiative NRW and has a PC corner with several networked and internet-enabled PCs in all classrooms.

Furnishing

In addition to the usual classrooms, the school has a library, a kitchen, a workshop and a music room. A sports hall, a swimming pool, a DFB small playing field and a running track with long jump facility are available for sporting activities.

The logo of the school is an owl , which in the eastern stairway of the school as stained glass is shown.

In November 2007, the then NRW Transport Minister Oliver Wittke as a patron of the ADAC -action children see better all first-graders school equipped with reflective safety vests.

Since the school year 2008/2009, the school has been participating in the project Every Child an Instrument (JeKi). Funded by the Federal Cultural Foundation and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia , all children in the school should be able to learn to play an instrument.
