Gemer

Gemer (Slovak Gemer , Hungarian Gömör ) is the name of a landscape in Slovakia .

The area is almost entirely in what is now southern Slovakia , a small part is located in northern Hungary , the Slovak name "Gemer" is now used as an unofficial name for this area and as an official name for a tourist region.

The Gemer tourist region (Slovak: Gemerský región cestovného ruchu ) extends over the following districts:

Gemer was also the name of a county until 1802, which was then combined with Kleinhont county to form Gemer and Kleinhont counties .
