The General Foods Corporate Headquarters building served as the headquarters of the former US food company General Foods, which is now part of Mondelēz International . The structure is located in Rye Brook , New York State . The building was built between 1979 and 1983 according to plans by Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo & Associates . The headquarters offered space for 1,600 employees and has a three-story underground car park with 1,260 parking spaces. However, with the takeover of General Foods by Philip Morris (now Altria) in 1985, many jobs were cut, which led to partial vacancies in the offices. In 1989 General Foods merged with Kraft to form Kraft General Foods Inc. with Altria as the majority shareholder. In 2004, Altria sold the former headquarters to real estate developer RPW Group for $ 40 million. The building is still owned by the RPW Group and operated by Cushman & Wakefield . Several medium and small companies have now rented the space.

The General Foods Corporate Headquarters consist of a single symmetrical main building with driveways on its front and back. The access from the front runs over a bridge that spans the lake immediately in front of the building. Vehicles can drive directly into the building and park in the underground car park. The facade has an aluminum cladding, which gives it an extremely striking appearance. The large atrium in the middle of the building is spanned by a glass dome and served as a staff canteen. The building has been described in the media as a "monument to entrepreneurship" and as an "aluminum business palace" that resembles an " Aztec temple".
