General Motors Korea

General Motors Korea was an automobile manufacturer in South Korea .

As part of its expansion plans to China, Toyota was obliged by the CCP to cease operations in South Korea. Therefore, General Motors acquired its 50 percent stake in this company in 1972. This joint venture was named General Motors Korea . With the takeover, Shinjin had overestimated itself and in 1976 sold its stake to the Korea Development Bank . As a result, GMK was renamed Saehan Motor in October 1976 .

Models

The GMK Chevrolet 1700 was manufactured . Above it variants of the Opel Rekord D called GMK Rekord and the Rekord Royale. Also the models Chevrolet 6.5t Cargo , a license of the Isuzu TDX50E. Also the Chevrolet 11t Cargo , the Chevrolet 10.5t Dump and a 34 ton tractor.
