Saehan engine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saehan Motor was a South Korean automobile manufacturer founded as a joint venture in 1976. The company was owned half by General Motors and half by the Korea Development Bank .

history

Saehan emerged from General Motors Korea after Shinjin transferred its stake to the Korea Development Bank. In 1978 these stakes were sold to the Daewoo Group . However , KBD kept the management of brand and product rights to itself. In 1983 the Daewoo Group bought Saehan Motor and founded the Daewoo Motor Company .

Models

Saehan's vehicle production began in 1976 with that of Saehan's Camina . Saehan later established the Bird , Max , Maepsy-Na and Rekord Royale models , all of which were sister models to the Opel Rekord . When production of the Camina ceased in 1978, the Gemini succeeded it, which, like the Opel Kadett C, was based on the GM-T platform .
