Gukje Motors Company was a South Korean manufacturer of automobiles . The Sibal produced is considered to be the first Korean vehicle.

Company history

The Seoul company began producing automobiles in 1955 under the direction of three brothers. The brand name was Gukje , according to other sources Sibal . The production period was 1955 to 1961. However, 1955 to 1963, 1955 to 1958 or only 1957 are also mentioned in this regard. A source names 1964 as the end of production.

vehicles

The Sibal or Shibal was a vehicle based on the Willys MB . It was also used as a taxi . The four-cylinder engine had a capacity of 1323 cc .

The company also manufactured passenger cars .

Production numbers

For the years 1955 to 1961 a production number of 2235 vehicles was given. Other sources state a total production of around 3,000 vehicles.
