Gennady Alexandrowitsch Krasnizki ( Russian Геннадий Александрович Красницкий ; born August 27, 1940 in Tashkent , Uzbek SSR , † June 12, 1988 in Kurgan-Tjube , Tajik SSR ) was a Soviet football player and coach.

life and career

Gennadi Krasnizki, who was born in Tashkent , started his active football career with his hometown club Pachtakor Tashkent , where he was to spend his entire active career. Pachtakor had only just got promoted to the top Soviet league . The striker Krasnizki quickly became a regular player and crowd favorite and made a significant contribution to keeping his club up.

Between 1961 and 1968 he also took part in a total of three national team games. Also in 1968 they were even in the Soviet cup final , but lost to Torpedo Moscow . Two years later, Krasnitski ended his career as an active player.

Immediately thereafter, Krasnitski began a career as a coach. He looked after several smaller clubs from the Uzbek SSR , but this was also followed by engagements at his old club Pachtakor Tashkent and at Zvezda Dschisak .

On June 12, 1988, Krasnitski committed suicide by throwing himself out of the window of a hotel tower in Kurgan-Tyube . The reasons for his suicide remained unclear.
