Gennadi Nikolajewitsch Lasutin ( Russian Геннадий Николаевич Лазутин ; born March  21, 1966 ) is a former Soviet - Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Lasutin had his first international success at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Trondheim in 1984 . There he won the gold medal with the relay. In the following year he won the 15 km and the relay gold medal at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Täsch . At the Junior World Ski Championships in 1986 in Lake Placid , he won over 10 km, 30 km and the gold medal with the relay. His first of a total of 14 individual World Cup races he ran in January 1991 in Minsk , which he finished in 12th place over 15 km freestyle. This was also his best individual placement in the World Cup. At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer , he ran in 15th place over 30 km freestyle and fifth in the relay. His last World Cup race he completed in December 1994 in Sappada , which he finished in 20th place over 15 km freestyle.
