Geodromicus is a genus of beetles from the family of the short-winged (Staphylinidae) within the subfamily Omaliinae . It occurs in Europe with 19 species, four of which are also found in Central Europe.

features

The beetles have a black, finely hairy body. One can distinguish them from the genus Anthophagus by their simple claws, they differ from the genus Lesteva by their significantly shorter last link of the jaw palpation .

Occurrence and way of life

The animals live under moss and plant material in fast flowing waters and also under stones at the edge of snow fields in the mountains.
