Geoffrey Horsman Coles (born March 13, 1871 in Hastings , † January 27, 1916 in Festubert , France ) was a British marksman .

successes

Geoffrey Coles took part in the 1908 Olympic Games in London in two disciplines with the free pistol . In the individual competition he finished eleventh with 449 points, while he finished the team competition at the side of Jesse Wallingford , Henry Lynch-Staunton and William Ellicott behind the US and Belgian teams in second place and thus won the bronze medal. Coles was the team's second best shooter with 459 points.

He served with the Royal Fusiliers . During the First World War , Coles, who held the rank of private , fell in Festubert in 1916 .
