Georai is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra .
The city is part of the Beed district . Georai has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 18 wards . It had a total of 33,562 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census, of which 17,263 were men and 16,299 women. With a share of around 65%, Hindus form the largest group of the city's population, followed by Muslims with around 30% and Buddhists with around 3%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 83.25%.
