Wyld's "Great Globe"

As geological center (Greek.) Refers to a variant of the panorama that an overview image of the Earth shows great; A georama is therefore also called a large, hollow globe, which contains representations of the continents , seas , mountains , rivers etc. on the inner surface , which can be seen from the center.

A "Great Globe" set up in London by the English geographer and cartographer James Wyld from 1851 to 1862 was made on a scale of one inch by two miles (1: 126720) and provided with four galleries on the inside for visitors to enjoy . This georama reproduced the surface of the earth true to scale on its inside, and the elevations were three times superelevated.
