Benjamin "Ben" Matthias Christian Tewaag (born April 27, 1976 in Munich ) is a German actor who used to work as a presenter , film producer , director, screenwriter and singer for the band Eschenbach .

Life

Ben Tewaag is the oldest of the three children of the actress Uschi Glas and the film producer Bernd Tewaag . Tewaag worked as the first unit manager for a long time before stepping in front of the camera. In 2005 he played in the RTL series The Secret Life of Players' Women , which he partially co-produced. The series was canceled after four episodes due to a lack of ratings and bad criticism. On MTV Germany he presented the programs Mission MTV and the German Jackass offshoot MTV Freakshow .

In 2002 Tewaag hit the headlines because he was accused of participating in a brawl in front of the P1 disco in Munich , in which he is said to have poured rum over a cameraman and set it on fire. In the years 2009/2010 he was due to a judgment given against him judgment for an offense committed by his girlfriend assault jailed for 18 months. He wrote the novel 313 about his time in prison .

In 2015, Tewaag was again on trial for assault. He was sentenced by the Tiergarten District Court for attempted coercion and bodily harm to 170 daily rates of 60 euros each. At the end of 2015, Tewaag was arrested in Ibiza after a self-inflicted car accident under the influence of alcohol. At the beginning of 2016, he was therefore sentenced to several months' imprisonment on probation, driving license revocation and compensation for pain and suffering.

In September 2016, Tewaag was one of twelve participants in the fourth season of Celebrity Big Brother on Sat.1 . He left the reality show as the winner and won 100,000 euros.

Tewaag has a son with the actress Alexia von Wismar . In August 2019, Tewaag was arrested in Berlin after stabbing the tires of a vehicle while drunk.

Tewaag is the managing director of PHX Pictures GmbH, a film production company specializing in high-end camera drones. She makes drone recordings for cinema and television films, music videos and commercials.
