The fifth season of the German reality show Promi Big Brother was broadcast on the private broadcaster Sat.1 from 11 to 25 August 2017 . The season is broadcast under the title Celebrity Big Brother - All or Nothing .

Jens Hilbert was chosen by the audience as the winner of the season in the finals. Milo Moiré came second and Willi Herren came third.

Changes from the fourth season

After the fourth season was no longer as successful as the broadcaster wanted, some major changes were made for the fifth season. One of the innovations in this season is the waiver of the audience at the daily live shows from Cologne-Ossendorf . There will only be a public viewing at the opening show and in the final. There is also a double moderation, as in the first season. For the first time, Jochen Bendel will moderate the show together with the previous presenter Jochen Schropp . There is also an outdoor studio and an outdoor duel arena this time.

Similar to the previous seasons, there is a distribution of residents in the house. This time the areas are labeled “Everything”, the luxurious area, and “Nothing”, the poor area. Both areas are on the same level. Due to the new distribution of residents, the subtitle “All or nothing” has been added to the title “Celebrity Big Brother”. The Big Spender was also introduced. The Big Spender is a machine where the residents in the “Nothing” area can buy everyday items with earned coins.

As in the first season, all residents move into the house (in the poor area) on the same day, but two days before the season begins broadcasting.

Once again, changes were made to the additional programs. For the first time in the history of the show, there is no live stream. A change has also been made to the transmission schedule for the episodes.

Distribution of residents

Participants moved into the “Nothing” section every two days before the show was broadcast. The distribution of residents is changed at irregular intervals due to the outcome of duels, audience votes or arbitrary stage directions.

Remarks: ↑ There was no nomination of the residents, as all residents had been nominated by Big Brother the day before. ↑ Due to a possible measurement error during the live duel on August 20th, the selection was temporarily not started. Broadcasting and production

The show's broadcast schedule was changed for the first time. Except for the first and last episode, which start at 8:15 p.m., all other episodes will start daily at 10:15 p.m. The first episode aired on Friday, August 11, 2017. The finale on Friday, August 25, 2017. Jochen Bendel and Jochen Schropp will present the show together for the first time. This season is also produced in the MMC Studios Cologne . Frei von Michi Bauereiß is used as the season's theme song and as a transition to the commercial breaks.

Phil Daub takes over the human voice from "Big Brother" again. Pat Murphy has been the speaker of the trailers and summary comments since 2014 .

Livestream

On August 2, 2017, Sat.1 confirmed that no live stream from the house was offered. It is the first time that Promi Big Brother is taking place in Germany without live streaming at all.

Additional broadcasts

For the first time, there are no additional programs on a TV channel. Instead, the focus was more on the website.

Celebrity Big Brother - Warm Up

The web show entitled "Warm Up" will be broadcast 30 minutes before the main broadcast on Facebook and in the SAT.1 - Live TV and media library app. These will be moderated by Aaron Troschke and Melissa Khalaj .

Celebrity Big Brother - Late Show

The live late night show Promi Big Brother - Late Show will be broadcast directly after the main broadcast on promibigbrother.de as well as in the SAT.1 - Live TV and media library app. Here too, Aaron Troschke and Melissa Khalaj are moderating the webshow together. Among other things, exclusive pictures from the house are shown, switched live into the house, interviews with guests are conducted and the selected residents are welcomed for the first major interview.

This year's live late night show Promi Big Brother - The Late Night Show , which had previously been broadcast for three years on the television channel sixx and moderated by Jochen Bendel and Melissa Khalaj, replaces this year's live late night show .
