Frederick Clarence Weber (born October 1, 1878 in Columbus , Ohio , † July 31, 1980 in White Plains , New York ) was an American chemist .

Life

Family and education

Frederick Clarence Weber, born in Columbus, the capital of the US state of Ohio, son of Herman Philip Weber and Medora Isabelle, née Maize, studied chemistry at Ohio State University after attending public schools , which he did in 1901 with the awarding of the academic degree of Bachelor of Science graduated. Weber finished after a medical degree at the George Washington University , where he in 1908 for Doctor of Medicine received his doctorate.

Frederick Clarence Weber married Alice Louise Baker, who was born in Hyattsville in the US state of Maryland , on June 20, 1908 . Weber died on July 31, 1980 at the old age of 101 at White Plains Hospital Medical Center.

Professional background

After graduating from Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree, Frederick Clarence Weber took on a position as an assistant chemist at the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station in Manhattan . In 1902 he moved to Washington, DC in the role of Scientific Assistant to the Bureau of Chemistry of the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC In 1906 Weber was transferred to the position of chemist as head of the Animal Physiological Chemical Laboratory, before he resigned in 1922. From 1923 he worked as a research chemist in the Fleischmann Company in New York City .

Frederick Clarence Weber was a member of the American Chemical Society , the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Sigma Xi and Delta Tau Delta scientific associations .

Frederick Clarence Weber was one of the pioneers in nutritional research . Further research concerned in particular the field of biochemistry .
