The sixth season of the German reality show Promi Big Brother was broadcast on the private broadcaster Sat.1 from August 17 to 31, 2018 .

In the final voting duel against Chethrin Schulze, Silvia Wollny won the season with 57.1% of the audience calls . Alphonso Williams came in third.

Changes from the fifth season

Also in this season some changes have been made compared to the previous one. So the subtitle “All or Nothing” was removed again. Together with Jochen Schropp , Marlene Lufen presented the show for the first time , replacing Jochen Bendel . Together with Melissa Khalaj, he again hosted the TV program Celebrity Big Brother - The Late Night Show on the television channel sixx . Due to the return of the accompanying TV show, Aaron Troschke moderated the web offers on his own again. Furthermore, a reality documentary on promibigbrother.de with the title Celebrity Big Brother - The Day After was broadcast for the first time. A slight change has also been made to the broadcast schedule for the show.

In contrast to the fifth season, nine participants moved into the house two days earlier than the remaining three participants. Similar to the previous seasons, there was a distribution of residents in two areas. In addition to the luxurious “villa” area, there was the “construction site”, the poor area. For the first time there was a spectator box . Every day the residents were given a box, the content of which was determined by viewers online.

While the first nine participants moved into the house on August 15, 2018, two days before the first episode was broadcast on August 17, three other participants moved in live during the move-in show.

The first participant left the show for the first time in the history of the format before the TV broadcast on the night of August 16-17. Umut Kekilli moved in as a replacement for Karl-Heinz Richard von Sayn-Wittgenstein on August 18.

Silvia Wollny and Sophia Vegas temporarily left the show on August 22 for medical reasons. The reason for this was a rash that Silvia Wollny had on her body, which was initially mistaken for shingles . As a precaution, the pregnant Sophia Vegas was also taken from the show and examined. Both returned on August 23, as the suspicion of shingles was not confirmed. However, again for medical reasons, Sophia had to leave the house for good on the evening of August 23rd.

The show's broadcast schedule was changed again. Like the first and last episode, the eighth episode started again at 8:15 p.m. Thus, instead of two, the season again contained three large live shows. The slots for the other episodes or the summaries of the day remained at 10:15 p.m. The first episode aired on Friday, August 17, 2018; the final on Friday, August 31, 2018.

Jochen Schropp took over the moderation for the fifth time and instead of with Jochen Bendel , as in the previous season, he moderated the show with Marlene Lufen for the first time . This season was again produced by Endemol Shine Germany in the MMC Studios Cologne . Everything I want from the band Brenner was used as the season's theme song as well as a transition to the commercials.

The human voice of "Big Brother" was spoken by Phil Daub, and the trailers and recap was provided by Pat Murphy .

After a year-long hiatus, there was another television program. The live late night show has been extended for a fourth season. As before, it was moderated by Jochen Bendel and Melissa Khalaj and was broadcast on the private television channel sixx after the main broadcast.

Celebrity Big Brother - Warm Up

The web show entitled “Warm Up” was broadcast on Fridays from 7:00 p.m. and on the remaining days from 8:30 p.m. on Facebook and in the SAT.1 - Live TV and media library app. These were again moderated by Aaron Troschke alone. The transmissions are approximately 15 minutes long.

Celebrity Big Brother - The Day After

Celebrity Big Brother - The day after is a reality documentary in which the participants are accompanied for the first time in the first 24 hours after they move out. The four 15-minute episodes produced by Endemol Shine Beyond were broadcast on promibigbrother.de approximately one week after the main show had started broadcasting. The first episode with Pascal Behrenbruch was published on August 26, 2018 at 10:15 p.m. The second episode starring Mike Shiva was released on August 27th. Two days later, the third episode with Umut Kekilli was released. On August 30th, the last episode was published with Cora Schumacher .

The first episode on August 17, 2018 achieved the highest ratings in all of the viewer categories since the finale of the third season on August 28, 2015. With the sixth episode on August 22, 2018, the highest ratings since reached the semi-finals of the third season on August 27, 2015.

Furthermore, with 2.37 million viewers, the first episode was the highest season opener since the second season in 2014 (3.16 million).
