Mike Shiva

Mike Shiva (born June 17, 1964 in Basel as Michel Wehner ; resident in Rüdtligen-Alchenflüh ) is a Swiss clairvoyant , fortune teller , entrepreneur , television presenter and columnist .

Life

Shiva spent his school days in Basel, where he also lives today. Since the age of 15 he has been running a practice in Basel where he gives his clients spiritual advice. For a while he toured Switzerland, Austria and Germany with a caravan.

Shiva is now one of the best-known but also most controversial clairvoyants, fortune tellers, cartelists and hypnotists in Switzerland and is present as such on television and radio. He advises viewers and listeners for a fee on fortune telling programs , had a regular broadcast on Radio Basel 1 and has appeared several times as a guest on broadcasts on SRG and ARD . Initially, he put cards on BTV4U in the format “Fresh4u: View into the Future” for callers. In 2005 Shiva left the station. After that, he was seen for six episodes in the Swiss comedy show “BallaBalla - VIVA la WM” on VIVA (Switzerland) in 2006 , in which he tried to predict the outcome of the upcoming football matches for the FIFA Cup. He is currently moderating the program “Mike Shiva - The Future” for several hours practically every day on the Swiss TV broadcaster Schweiz 5 , which is similar to the program from his previous position at NBC. The same station occasionally broadcasts the talk show "Mike Shiva & Guests", run by Mike Shiva.

Mike Shiva offers his services via several chargeable value-added service numbers. Because of his business practice, Mike Shiva is accused of making money with desperate people by the Foundation for Consumer Protection, the consumer magazine K-Tipp and the TV show Kassensturz . The Zurich sect expert Hugo Stamm accuses him of “rip-offs”, that he delivers “truisms and psychological pseudo-knowledge that can apply to everyone”, and that his main concern is money and success.

As early as 2005, TV presenter and TV satirist Frank Baumann expressed himself in an article in the magazine Tele satirically about Mike Shiva and accused him of “rip-offs”.

In 2011, it became known that the Bern tax administration had carried out and concluded post-tax and criminal tax proceedings against Mike Shiva.

Media presence

Mike Shiva has been producing his TV show Shiva Live on the TV channel Schweiz5 and on the official website shivalive.tv since 2016 with a new team and new partners. After twelve years he had fallen out with his employer, manager and business partner at the time, because no money was paid for the sale. Until 2016, Mike Shiva broadcast a daily 24-hour astro and esoteric program on various TV channels. He was also seen daily on TV24 Switzerland, S1 TV Switzerland and SSF Switzerland, where he moderated his own advisory programs. Occasionally he is also a studio guest on Swiss television , for example in the programs of the Swiss media legend Roger Schawinski on December 9, 2013 or Club on January 9, 2007 on the subject of horoscopes and fortune telling: life support or hocus-pocus? . In between he also appears in the written media, particularly in the tabloid Blick . Since May 2014 he has been writing a weekly column in the Basler Zeitung . In August 2018, Mike Shiva took part in the German program Promi Big Brother and took 10th place.
