The first season of the German reality show Promi Big Brother was broadcast on the private broadcaster Sat.1 from September 13 to 27, 2013 .

Jenny Elvers-Elbertzhagen was chosen by the audience as the winner of the season in the finals. Natalia Osada finished second and Marijke Amado came third.

prehistory

From 2000 to 2011, the commercial broadcaster RTL II initially successfully showed the original Big Brother format . However, due to the great success of Berlin - Day & Night 2012, no new season was produced. In November 2012, however, Endemol Germany managing director Marcus Wolter spoke of a continuation of the show.

In March 2013 it was announced that Sat.1 would take over the format and continue it with prominent residents.

David Hasselhoff left the show voluntarily for personal reasons. Two days later, Georgina Fleur moved in as a replacement . One day after Fleur moved in, Sarah Joëlle Jahnel left the show voluntarily for personal reasons.

Broadcasting and production

The nearly three-hour opening show aired on Friday, September 13, 2013. A three hour live show was broadcast on Friday, September 20, 2013. The three-hour final was broadcast on Friday, September 27, 2013. On the remaining days, an approximately one-hour summary of the day was broadcast at around 10:15 p.m. The pay TV broadcaster Sat.1 emotions repeated the three live shows and the daily summaries one day later at 5:40 p.m. and 7:25 p.m. respectively.

The fifteen episodes were moderated by Cindy from Marzahn and Oliver Pocher . The production site is located in Berlin-Adlershof in the Treptow-Köpenick district . In the Studio Berlin Adlershof a large open-air site was established. For example, the casting show The Voice of Germany or the talk show Anne Will are produced there. The Signal by Madcon was the season's theme song. Plastic Faces of Miss Li was used during the season as a transition to the commercial breaks.

During the broadcasts, the human voice of “Big Brother” is heard by Phil Daub. During the rest of the time, employees of the production company took over the voice of the “Big Brothers”.

Livestream

In addition to the shows, the pay TV provider Sky showed live images from the house during the commercial breaks. Furthermore, following the shows, there were two hours of live images every day on the pay TV broadcaster. In addition, sat1.de and promibigbrother.de also offered a two-hour live stream for a fee .

Celebrity Big Brother - The Webshow

Parallel to the season, Sat.1 showed "Celebrity Big Brother - The Webshow" on the Internet, which was moderated by the former GIGA presenters Etienne Gardé and Nils Bomhoff . The webshow showed interviews with the ex-residents, insider information, insights into the house and updates from the social media channels. The web show was shown on SAT.1 Connect 15 minutes before the start of the live show, 15 minutes after the end of the live show and during the commercial breaks.

Celebrity Big Brother Inside

"Promi Big Brother Inside" was a one-hour early evening magazine moderated by Jan Hahn , which was broadcast on Sat.1 from September 21, 2013 in addition to the main program during the season . The first episode of Promi Big Brother Inside started with 680,000 viewers, which corresponds to a 3.2% market share, and in the target group of 14 to 49 year olds with a market share of 4.0%. The second and last episode was seen by 810,000 viewers, which corresponds to a 3.9 percent market share. In the target group of 14 to 49 year olds, 290,000 viewers watched, which corresponds to a market share of 4.5 percent.

Audience ratings

After the first broadcast with 3.21 million viewers, the number of viewers fell within a few days to up to 1.34 million, before the numbers settled at a level of around 1.7 million. The arrival of Pamela Anderson once again raised the audience to 2 million. The final broadcast reached 2.12 million viewers. These figures corresponded to market shares of 6.6 to 12.7 percent.
