Jan Leyk (born October 9, 1984 in Minden ; bourgeois Joanes Leyk Martinez ) is a German amateur actor , designer and DJ . He achieved greater fame through his role as Carlos Hansen in the RTL II series Berlin - Day & Night .

life and career

Leyk was born the son of a Spaniard and a German. His maternal family comes from San Sebastián . He grew up first in Hameln and then in Hanover and later moved to Hamburg. Leyk is an avowed fan of Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04 . In 2004 he graduated from high school and then worked as a freelance event restaurateur for five years. In 2010 he opened his local Bar Hundert in Hamburg-Eppendorf .

In 2011, Leyk gained fame through the role of bartender Carlos Hansen in the reality soap opera Berlin - Day & Night . He played this in 248 episodes up to the termination by the broadcaster RTL II in 2012. The termination took place after a video recording of Leyk's use of violence was published on the Internet on June 25, 2012: Leyk was violent against a woman in a bar, whereupon a charge of assault has been filed. Because of this incident, he was initially on leave from the series until the incident was clarified by the police and public prosecutor. On July 11, 2012, he was fired from RTL II because he was convicted of a theft in 2007. In the same year he founded his own fashion label under the name Hafensänger Fashion . From 13 to 23 September 2013 he took part in the first season of the reality show format Promi Big Brother .

Since 2012 Leyk has been working as a DJ throughout Germany and abroad. In cooperation with Aleksey he released his first single Goethe in 2013 on Kontor Records . With his second single Showdown , he entered the German singles charts at number 100 in July 2014.

In March 2015, he was also thrown in 1 bach by Money Boy .

In June 2015 Leyk signed a record deal with the major label Universal . Together with Lockvogel , alias the ex- Das Supertalent candidate Nils Mechlinski, Leyk released the single Ne Second Summer . The two of them met while recording Gladiators in September 2014 in the studio of Leyk's production team Madizin . Although the song reached number one on the iTunes charts on the day of its release and number two in the midweek charts , the song was approved by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie e. V. removed from the chart for four weeks. The reason for the exclusion was the examination of a suspicion of manipulation after there were indications that self-purchased iTunes vouchers were circulated to third parties in connection with the said single. In the end, the song entered the German single charts at number 40 in early July. As the last collaboration between Leyk & Lockvogel for the time being, the single We were there was released in September 2015 .
