Georg Amlung

Georg Amlung (born December 25, 1896 in Mainz , † March 22, 1973 in Hamburg ) was a German SPD politician .

Life and politics

Georg Amlung learned the profession of lathe operator after elementary school and worked as a metalworker and community worker until 1925. From 1914 to 1918 he was involved in the First World War . From 1923 to 1925 he was the chairman of the general works council of the municipal companies and from 1924 to 1925 chairman of the branch of the community and state workers' association in Mainz.

From 1925 to 1933 he was an employee of the municipal and state workers' association and, since 1929, of the general association of employees of public companies.

He was a member of the Hamburg Parliament from September 1931 to 1933. He left the SPD faction in 1933 and joined the newly formed union faction .
