Georg Bernecker (* Leipzig ; † 1544 ) was an early modern entrepreneur in the Ore Mountains and one of the founders of today's Czech community Potůčky .

Bernecker, who comes from the trade fair city of Leipzig, has been running several tin ore mines near Platten in the Electoral Saxon rule of Schwarzenberg , including the capercaillie discovery pit and the Reicher Trost colliery on the Hirschberg, together with his brother Horatio since 1537 . He settled in Platten, where in May 1537 he bought the house of the widow of Marcus Müller. His brother followed him in 1538 as the buyer of Peter Müller's house in Platten.

Bernecker also owned two stamp mills on the Breitenbach and is mentioned in 1540 as the owner of a smelter. The settlement of Breitenbach, today's Czech municipality of Potůčky , arose from the establishment of stamping works on the Breitenbach, which was followed by a paint mill and then a hammer mill in 1569 .

After he died in 1544, his brother Horatio, who owned four stamping works on the Schwarzwasser himself, sold the house he had bought in 1537 to the tin smelter Paul Siegel from Eibenstock .
