Georg Fischer (entrepreneur, 1804)

Georg Fischer (born April 17, 1804 in Schaffhausen ; † October 3, 1888 in Hainfeld (Lower Austria) ) was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Georg Fischer was born in Schaffhausen on April 17, 1804, the son of the entrepreneur Johann Conrad Fischer , the founder of Fischer'schen Stahlwerke . After attending school in Schaffhausen, he trained at the Polytechnic Institute in Vienna. In 1833 he took over the foundry founded by his father in Hainfeld and a spindle factory in Traisen , in which his brother Berthold later ran a tempering and steel foundry. After the death of his father, he reorganized his operations in Schaffhausen and sold them to his son Georg .

Georg Fischer, who was married three times, died in Hainfeld at the age of 84.
