Georg Glowatzki

Georg Glowatzki (born March 11, 1924 in Breslau ; † 2008 in Bern-Liebefeld ) was a German anthropologist and forensic doctor in Bern .

Life

In 1924 Glowatzki was born as a child of the chief police officer Georg Glowatzki and his wife Hedwig, b. Russeck, born. In 1969 he became head of the State Anthropological Collection in Munich , initially on a temporary basis, until 1977. He then went to Bern and worked as an anthropologist, coroner and journalist.

He was married to Marie Louise Mullis, with whom he also published together.

Work area

Glowatzki conducted research at the Institute for Anthropology and Human Genetics at the University of Munich, among other things, on the question of the existence of human races. He came to the conclusion that races are not static categories, but dynamic groups of people that change over time.
