Georg Count of Thun and Hohenstein

Georg Joseph Roderich Antonius Graf von Thun and Hohenstein (born June 12, 1946 in Herdringen ; † May 28, 2007 in Hamburg ) was a German auditor and chairman of the North Delegation of the German Association of the Sovereign Order of Knights of Malta .

Life

He was the second of seven children from the marriage of Joseph Bernhard Constantin Michael Maria Victor Graf von Thun and Hohenstein (* 1917) with Oda Freiin von Fürstenberg (* 1920). On October 14, 1972, he married Heidemarie Vogt in Oelinghausen. This marriage has two children.

He learned the profession of banker and studied business administration at the Hamburg University of Economics and Politics . After working for a housing audit and trust company, he was managing director of a tax consulting company.

In 1980 he founded his own company, which later merged with a Hamburg auditing company. There he was senior partner and chairman of the board of trustees.

Georg Graf von Thun and Hohenstein was particularly involved in the voluntary and social environment. Since 1996 he has been Knight of Honor and Knight of Devotion of the Order of Malta, Chairman of the North Delegation and member of the Council of the German Association. In addition, he was a member of the advisory boards of non-profit companies and chairman of the board of trustees of the Catholic Schools Foundation in Hamburg (KSHH).

He died after a long illness on May 28, 2007 at the age of 60.
