Georg Greve (mathematician)

Georg Greve (* 1949 in Güstrow ) is a retired German civil servant and a mathematician . From 1998 to 2015 he was the managing director of a statutory pension insurance provider.

Life

Greve studied mathematics and business administration. From 1981 to 1986 he was a. a. technical manager of central data processing at the Rhineland regional association. In 1978 he received his doctorate in mathematics from the Fernuniversität Hagen . In 1986 Greve initially joined the miners' union as head of the organization and data processing department . In 1997 he was appointed to the management and appointed director. In 1998 he took over the chairmanship of the executive board and was promoted to first director. In 2005, under his leadership, the Federal Knappschaft was merged with two other social security agencies to form the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Knappschaft-Bahn-See (KBS). Until his retirement at the end of October 2015, he was Chairman of the Board of Management of KBS. He became known u. a. through innovative projects such as the introduction of the first electronic health card .

Greve is married and has two children.
