Georg Julius von Schlechtendahl

Johann Georg Julius von Schlechtendahl (born February 14, 1770 in Xanten , † July 4, 1833 in Münster ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

Georg Julius von Schlechtendahl was born as the son of the Prussian war council and district judge in Xanten Franz Friedrich Schlechtendahl (from 1786 von Schlechtendahl) and Agnes Katharina born. Schimmelketel was born. He studied law at the University of Halle . In 1791 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Halle . He completed his legal clerkship at the War and Domain Chamber in Hamm. In 1794 he worked as a travel agent for the deputation of the Upper War College of the Rhine Army. In 1795 he passed the assessor exam.

In 1796 von Schlechtendahl was appointed war and domain councilor at the Märkische war and domain chamber in Hamm. In 1802 he became a member of the organizational commission in Paderborn and in 1804 Vice Director of the Chamber in Münster. In 1809 he was appointed to the Bergisches Staatsrat in Düsseldorf. In 1812 he came back to the authority in Münster as deputy director. From 1814 to 1816 he was President of the Government Commission in Paderborn. In 1816 he was appointed government director and at the end of 1818 he was appointed government vice-president of the Münster administrative district. At the end of August 1826 he was given the special presidency by the Oberpräsidium of the Province of Westphalia, with which he de facto carried out the official duties of the district president of the Münster administrative district.

Von Schlechtendahl was married to Dorothea Hinke (1779–1866) since 1802.
