Georg Klauer

Gustav Edgar Georg Emil Klauer (born June 9, 1876 in Berlin ; † October 6, 1947 there ) was the last President of the Reich Patent Office .

Life

Klauer was appointed court assessor in 1903 . After working as a local judge in Berlin-Schöneberg , he took up his position at the Reich Patent Office in 1910. In 1921 he moved to the Reich Ministry of Justice , where he was promoted to Ministerialrat in 1924 . There he was involved in the amendment of the Patent Act and the Copyright Act . On March 1, 1934, he became President of the Reich Patent Office and remained so until the end of World War II . Two years after the end of the war he died of suicide. In 1933, Klauer was one of the founding members of the National Socialist Academy for German Law by Hans Frank .
