Georg Maderholz

Georg Maderholz (born January 7, 1881 in Unsernherrn , Ingolstadt district , † after 1933) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After graduating from elementary school, Maderholz completed an apprenticeship as a lathe operator, attended advanced training school and then worked in the profession he had learned. He was a soldier in the First World War from 1914 to 1918 and took part in the fighting on the Aisne , the Autumn Battle of Champagne and the Battle of Verdun , during which he was seriously wounded. For his services he was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class. After he returned home disabled in the war, he worked from 1921 to 1928 as a milling cutter and lathe operator in Berlin . From 1928 to 1933 he worked as a full-time cashier for the metal workers' association in Berlin.

Maderholz joined the SPD, switched to the USPD in 1917 and became a member of the Social Democrats again in 1922. He was a member of the Berlin city council from 1926 to 1933 and a member of the Prussian state parliament from 1928 to 1933 .
