Georg Memminger

Georg Memminger (* around 1950 ) is a former German racing driver and today's entrepreneur.

Career

Georg Memminger started his racing career in the early 1980s in endurance motorsport. In 1982 he drove with Fritz Müller in a Porsche 930 in Group B of the World Sports Car Championship . In the same year he was able to celebrate his first class win in Group B and 9th place overall in the 1000 km race at the Nürburgring . In 1983 and 1984 he drove with Heinz Kuhn-Weiss in the sports car world championship and was able to join the top 15 places in many races. In 1983 he also took part in the Le Mans 24-hour race . There he reached 13th place overall with Fritz Müller and Heinz Kuhn-Weiss.

In 1988 Memminger switched to Porsche one-make cup racing. There he competed in the Porsche 944 Turbo Cup in 1988 and 1989 and a year later in the subsequent cup racing series Porsche Carrera Cup Germany . He took part twice in the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race . In 1989 he drove there in a BMW M3 Evo to 7th place and in 1990 with a Porsche 911 Carrera (Type 964) to 9th overall.

Then he ended his racing career. Today he is the company owner and has specialized in the construction of new VW Beetle convertible vehicles.
