Georg Metz
Georg Metz (born June 16, 1867 in Oggersheim / Pfalz, † February 4, 1936 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) was a German politician and member of the Bavarian State Parliament ( SPD ).
Metz completed an apprenticeship as a metal lathe operator before setting out on a journey through Germany. From 1903 to 1932 he was the managing director of the Frankenthal consumer and savings association. He was also the first chairman of the free religious community in Frankenthal. From 1901 to 1932 he was a member of the council of the city of Frankenthal (Palatinate) for the SPD (MSPD ) . On October 5, 1920, he replaced Johannes Hoffmann , who had renounced his mandate, in the Bavarian State Parliament, to which he belonged until March 17, 1924 during the second electoral period of the Weimar Republic .
The town of Frankenthal (Palatinate) bears his name Georg-Metz Street, in the era of National Socialism Schlageter said road.
