Georg Neuber

Georg Neuber (born December 11, 1925 in Koenigsberg ) is a former German fencer . He was GDR champion and took part in the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome . Originally fencing for BSG Chemie Torgau in the GDR, he started at the latest in 1956 for MTV Munich in West Germany.

In 1952 Neuber won the GDR fencing championships with foil and saber. In 1956 he was third in the (West) German championships in epee singles. In 1983 Neuber became German senior champion with the saber.

In 1954 he was part of the epee team at the World Championships in Luxembourg . At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he also took part with the sword both individually and with the team (together with Paul Gnaier , Fritz Zimmermann , Dieter Fänger , Helmut Anschütz and Walter Köstner ). In the individual, he was eliminated in the third of five rounds, the team took fifth place among 21 participating nations.
