Georg Nussbaumer

Georg Nussbaumer (born August 24, 1964 in Linz ) is an Austrian composer and installation artist.

Live and act

Nussbaumer passed his artistic diploma in 1984 at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz , where he studied recorder with Walter van Hauwe in Amsterdam . From 1987 to 2002 he taught at the Linz Music School. In 2008 he was a guest lecturer at the Vienna Days of Contemporary Piano Music organized by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna , and in 2015 lecturer at the impuls Akademie Graz.

Nussbaumer expands musical instruments into installations , uses a variety of organic and inorganic materials and uses, for example, machines, videos or live animals to implement his compositions . For years he has dealt intensively with aspects of Richard Wagner's work.

He has been a member of the MAERZ artists' association since 1992 .

Stays abroad, scholarships

In 2002 he completed a stay in California and in 2004 in Los Angeles . In 2001 and 2007 he took advantage of the Anton Bruckner Scholarship of the Province of Upper Austria and in 2009 and 2013 the State Scholarship for Composition.
