Georg Richter (politician, 1891)

Georg Richter (born October 13, 1891 in Leipzig , † April 13, 1967 , probably in Düsseldorf ) was a German trade unionist and social democratic politician .

After primary school, Richter attended a vocational college. He did military service in the First World War and was in captivity until 1920. Between 1922 and 1923 he attended the School for Economics and Administration in Düsseldorf .

Richter was a member of the SPD since 1907 and a free trade union since 1908 . From 1920 to 1922 he was company chairman. Between 1923 and 1926 he was managing director of the state and community workers' association. Afterwards Richter officiated for the SPD as party secretary in the sub-district of Düsseldorf. At the same time he was also a city councilor in Düsseldorf.

The era of National Socialism spent judge in exile in Switzerland .

From 1946 Richter was again a city councilor and chairman of the SPD in Düsseldorf and in the Düsseldorf-Mettmann sub-district. In 1946 and 1947 he was a member of the appointed state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . After that he was directly elected member of the state parliament for the electoral district of Düsseldorf-East in the first and second legislative periods.
