from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Georg Schneider (born April 9, 1980 in Vienna ) is an Austrian economist .

Schneider graduated with distinction in 1998 at the Wenzgasse grammar school in Vienna. He then did a diploma in mathematics at the University of Vienna , which he graduated with honors in 2001 and in 2002, after completing his doctorate in natural sciences, he received his doctorate with sub auspiciis . Immediately thereafter, Schneider began his doctorate in economics, which he again completed in 2005 with sub auspiciis. He is one of four Austrians who have achieved that.

In May 2007 he was appointed to the University of Paderborn , where he took over the chair for business administration with a focus on external accounting in October 2007. This makes him the youngest professor who ever held a chair at the University of Paderborn.

Since March 2015 he has been a board member at the Institute for Corporate Accounting and Reporting at the University of Graz . He had previously turned down the offer from the University of Mannheim in 2011 and from the University of Bern in 2012 .
