Georg Schweisfurth

Georg Schweisfurth (born July 15, 1959 in Munich ) is a German entrepreneur and author in the field of organic food .

Georg Schweisfurth is the son of Karl Ludwig Schweisfurth and the twin brother of Karl Schweisfurth . He grew up in Herten , the headquarters of the Herta company , which his father ran. Like all the children in the family, he completed an apprenticeship and became a butcher. He studied business administration and economics in Munich and Freiburg.

In 1988 he was co-initiator of the Herrmannsdorfer Landwerkstätten . In 1996 he founded the organic gastro wholesaler EPOS - everything is possible GmbH , and in 1997 the ecological seminar hotel Sonnenhausen, which he still manages today. In 1997 he was a co-founder of Basic AG , where he was on the board until 2004. In 2007 he founded BIOfairAFRICA in Abidjan , Ivory Coast .

He wrote several books on organic nutrition. Schweisfurth is a curator in the Schweisfurth Foundation and was on the supervisory board of Greenpeace Germany .
