Georg Siemens

Georg Siemens (* 1882 in Kiel ; † 1977 in Überlingen ) was a German engineer and writer from the Siemens entrepreneurial family .

Life

Siemens studied mechanical engineering and economics in Berlin from 1900 to 1905 . In 1914 he received his doctorate degree with a thesis on the control of asynchronous three-phase generators. PhD .

In 1905 he joined Siemens-Schuckertwerke and in 1925 took over the management of the technical office of Siemens & Halske AG in Essen . From 1945 he lived as a freelance writer in Überlingen, where he was made an honorary citizen of the city in 1963 .

In 1968 he received the Lake Constance Literature Prize awarded by the city of Überlingen .
