Georg Timpe

Georg Timpe SAC (born August 4, 1873 in Hamburg , † February 26, 1969 in Hyattsville ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

The brother Heinrich Timpes joined the Pallottines in Limburg an der Lahn in 1893 . He was ordained a priest in Rome on May 27, 1899 . He headed the publishing house and the printing house of the order in Limburg. From 1906 to 1914 he was a German pastor in London . From 1914 to 1918 he was a chaplain . As general secretary he headed the Raphaelsverein from 1920 to 1930 in Hamburg. From 1933 to 1949 Timpe was a lecturer at the Order College in Washington, DC In 1954 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
