Georg Vengert (born July 2, 1972 in Karlsruhe ) is a former Croatian / German basketball player . The 1.96 meter long winger made seven appearances in the basketball league .

career

Vengert, known in basketball circles not only by his first name Georg, but also by his nickname Duro, played in the offspring of the BG Karlsruhe and occasionally played tennis as a teenager . He made the leap into the second division squad in Karlsruhe and rose to become team captain in the late 1990s. As such, he led the BG in 2003 to the championship title in the southern season of the 2nd basketball Bundesliga and thus to promotion to the Bundesliga. In his only first division season with Karlsruhe (2004/04) he was used in seven games.

In 2004 Vengert retired to the Regionalliga and strengthened SSC Karlsruhe , then was on the field for TV Schwetzingen in 1864 and in the 2008/09 season for PSK Karlsruhe  in the Regionalliga. After his competitive sports career, the graduate in business administration worked at PSK in administration and as a trainer.
