Georg Wellner (born March 19, 1846 in Prague ; died September 7, 1909 in Auen bei Velden) was an Austrian engineer.

He was one of ten children of state lawyer Anton Wellner. After high school, he studied technology at the German Polytechnic Institute in Prague from 1863 to 1867 . In 1876 he began teaching in Brno and dealt with mechanical engineering and aviation in theory and practice. He was a pioneer in aerospace engineering and holds several patents. In 1893 he began in Vienna with the construction of a Segelradflugmaschine "Cyclogyro". Between 1894 and 1896 he carried out many experiments with lifting screws of various sizes in order to research and calculate their mode of action and the force required. He published several books on steam boilers and flying machines.
