Georg Wilhelm von Pachelbel

Georg Wilhelm von Pachelbel zu Gehag (born October 28, 1717 in Ansbach , † October 5, 1784 in Zweibrücken ) was a Palatinate-Zweibrücken diplomat.

Life

Pachelbel was appointed to the council in 1749, became a member of the government in 1751/52 and went to the French court in Paris as an agent in 1756. He was appointed secret legation councilor from 1768 to 1784 and was accredited minister there.

The confirmation of his nobility and coat of arms took place on August 4, 1759 by the emperor in Vienna.

He was married to Maria Philippine Ehrmann, a daughter of the chamber agent Job Daniel Ehrmann. The Swedish Chancellor for Pomerania Heinrich Christian Friedrich von Pachelbel-Gehag was their son. The daughter Karoline Helene Johanna (born January 2, 1750 - † June 26, 1797) married the later Swedish lieutenant general and commander of Stralsund Johann Franz Pollett (* March 22, 1729 - † February 26, 1802).
