Heinrich Christian Friedrich von Pachelbel-Gehag

Heinrich Christian Friedrich von Pachelbel-Gehag (born June 27, 1763 in Zweibrücken , † February 19, 1838 in Berlin ; also Heinrich Pachelbel von Gehag or Heinrich von Pachelbel zu Gehag ) was Chancellor in Swedish Pomerania and the first district president in the Prussian administrative district of Stralsund .

origin

The Sudeten German family went back to Wolf Adam Pachelbel von Gehag (1599–1649), mayor of the city of Eger in Bohemia . Heinrich von Pachelbel was the son of Georg Wilhelm von Pachelbel , envoy and authorized minister from Pfalz-Zweibrücken in Paris and his wife Philippine Ehrmanns .

Life

Heinrich attended the Herzog-Wolfgang-Gymnasium in Zweibrücken from 1772 to 1778 , after which he went to Colmar for two years at the Academic Education Institute. From 1781 to 1784 he studied at the universities of Gießen and Göttingen .

In 1785 he became assessor for the ducal government in Pfalz-Zweibrücken. At the same time he was appointed Chamberlain and Attaché of the Department of Foreign Affairs. In 1788 he went to Stralsund , which at that time belonged to Swedish-Pomerania, where he became a trainee lawyer and on November 21, 1789 a councilor. In 1810 he was appointed Chancellor of the Swedish government in Stralsund . For his services to the administration of the Swedish province he was awarded the North Star Order on November 26, 1810 , and in March 1813 he was awarded the Grand Cross of the North Star Order.

In 1815 Swedish Pomerania came to Prussia. Here he was appointed second class Knight of the Red Eagle Order in 1816 . In 1817 Heinrich von Pachelbel was taken over by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. appointed regional president of the newly formed Stralsund administrative district. Since the New West Pomerania estates opposed the reorganization of the administration, he could not be installed in his office until 1818 by Johann August Sack , the chief president of the province of Pomerania .

In 1825 he retired and has since lived in Berlin, where he devoted himself to writing.
